Regulation (EC) no. 1907/2006 (REACh)

As a renowned German brand manufacturer, full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations is a matter of course for us.
In accordance with REACh, we qualify as a “downstream user” supplying “mixtures” and “articles.”

This specifically means:

  • Under Article 33 of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACh), suppliers placing articles (machines, accessories, and construction or spare parts) on the market that contain one or more substances of very high concern (SVHC) in concentrations above 0.1% by weight are subject to certain information obligations. Substances identified as SVHC are added to the so-called candidate list of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).

  • Based on the information provided by our suppliers, we assume that the substances listed in Annex XIV have been registered within the required deadlines.

  • To the best of our current knowledge, none of our articles contain substances listed in Annex XVII that would prohibit their placement on the market.

  • Safety instructions can be found on the HiKOKI-Portal.

  • We fully comply with the information obligations outlined in Article 33:
Products containing one or more SVHC are reported in the SCIP database.

REACh: SVHC in Products

According to the available information, our products contain nearly all components that include lead as an alloying element in concentrations above 0.1% by weight.
The use of lead is subject to exemption rules and, when used properly, does not pose any risk to health or the environment. Therefore, no safety advice is required.

Information on the Disposal of Battery Packs and Electrical Devices

Environmentally Responsible Products Are Anchored in Our Corporate Philosophy and Code of Conduct
As a renowned brand manufacturer, we naturally comply with all obligations under EU Directive 2012/19/EU (WEEE).

Our power tools are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin. This symbol indicates that waste electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed of in household waste.
Consumers are required to return such equipment free of charge to an appropriate public collection point, a specialist retailer, or through our service.
When disposing of battery-powered devices at a municipal collection point, please remove the battery beforehand and dispose of it separately and in an environmentally sound manner via a suitable collection system.

Waste equipment contains valuable raw materials that can be recovered and reused in line with circular economy principles.
For the disposal and recycling of electrical and electronic waste equipment and battery packs, Hikoki is registered with EAR:
WEEE Reg. No. DE 84054365 / Batt Reg. No. DE 17739257

Important Notice on the Use of Li-Ion Battery Packs for Our Cordless Tools

Please use only our original battery packs.

These are specifically designed to ensure maximum performance and safety.

We cannot provide any guarantee for safety or performance if other battery packs or chargers are used.

Opened or modified battery packs/chargers are also unsafe.

The use of non original battery packs or chargers can lead to serious safety risks such as fire hazards and voids all warranty and guarantee claims for our products.

Safe Handling of Lithium-Ion Battery Devices

Lithium-ion batteries are ideal for mobile use due to their high energy density. The integrated safety system ensures safe products and safe working environments. However, because of their high energy levels, special precautions must be observed when handling and transporting them.

Here you will find all information and tips for the safe handling of lithium-ion batteries:
