No. Our portfolio with 18-volt is still the main and very important part of the market. HiKOKI will also develop new 18-volt range products. 36 volts battery packs are designed for those machines that take advantage of the 36-volt operation due to high power requirements. The main purpose of developing 36-volt battery pack is to make users feel easier and more comfortable to work with powerful tools without cord. The machines with our Multi Volt battery pack have the same performance as corded tools but they are more compact, lighter and easy to operate.
Yes, all 18-volt-machines can be operated with the new Multi Volt packs. Only new 36-volt machines cannot be used with existing 18-volt packs.
What is important in power tools is portability, meaning compact and ergonomically designed and lightweight power tools. What is special about our Multi Volt technology is that we realized 36V output power with the same size as 18-volt battery pack. This makes work faster and easier. Moreover, higher power output and load capacity due to lower heating of the battery packs, thus a longer battery life.
Everything you should know about MULTI VOLT can be found on our HiKOKI MULTI VOLT page.
A brushless motor is a type of electric motor. In contrast to the traditional commutator motor, its characteristic feature is the absence of carbon brushes. Thanks to this, it is not necessary to change the brushes periodically. Other advantages of a brushless motor are lower failure rate, quieter operation, lighter construction, less friction and thus less losses - greater motor efficiency.
